Mahiliou law enforcement authorities have fined the owner of the car with inscription “Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Odessa” and St. George Ribbon 90K BYR

In early August, the chairman of the Mahiliou regional organization of the United Civil Party, Uladzimir Shantsau, demanded a criminal case against the owner of Peugeot 308. According to political activist, the list of cities in the south-east of Ukraine and St. George’s ribbon show support of the car owner for separatism and extremism in the neighboring country. He demanded that the motorist was prosecuted under Article 130 of the Belarusian Criminal Code (incitement to racial, national or religious hatred), reported naviny.by.

Mahiliou police carried out checks, but the administration of the Leninsky district police department of Mahiliou did not see in the actions of the car’s driver signs of incitement to ethnic hatred, BelaPAN was told by the head of the law enforcement and prevention of Mahiliou regional executive committee Pavel Smirnou.

However, a report was filed in respect of the driver under Article 18:12 of the Code of administrative offenses for non-compliance of the vehicle, which resulted in the placement of the road stickers on the rear window of the car. As a result, the driver was fined 90 thousand BYR, Smirnou said.

According to paragraph 194.13, SDA prohibits participation in road traffic of a vehicle with externally visible stickers (pictures), except thosemarked in the prescribed manner.
