Lukashenka wants school uniform to be comfy for kids ‘including those from fifth column’

At yesterday’s Nationwide Conference on Teaching president Alyaksandr Lukashenka divided Belarusian children into some groups, which has caused a stir among the public.

“We should offer several kinds of school uniform! It should be comfortable both for the children from the fifth column (we cannot throw them away, they are our children) and for the children of ordinary Belarusians, who love our country,” Lukashenka said.

According to him, the options must be kept open for people. At the same time, he stressed that such uniform should let anyone see ‘girls’ panties’.

“There must be no jeans with ripped knees in our schools! Well, somewhere one can wear them. But, in schools there should be a… I forgot the word…”

“Dress code,” prompted Education Minister Ihar Karpenka.

“Dress code. It is like a swearword, but it is acceptable.”
