Lukashenka: no Maidan possible in Belarus

The head of state hopes that the fratricidal war in Ukraine will stop on the basis of the Minsk Agreement, and Belarus  will keep “public order”.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with the leadership of the Interior Ministry.

“Today, there is hope that on the basis of the Minsk Agreement the international community will make efforts to stop the fratricidal war. The Ukrainian people need it, and so does the European Union, Russia and Belarus,” said the Belarusian leader. He added that in our country there is peace and harmony, no conflicts on either ethnic or religious grounds.

“I have repeatedly said it before, but I believe it is necessary to repeat it once again: there’ll be no Maidan in Belarus. We must fully preserve the public order, as well as our own country,” said Lukashenka.
