Lukashenka Jr delivers 'eco-friendly products' to pensioners and orphans: Publicity stunt?

The first batch of fruits and vegetables harvested in the territory of the official residence of the Belarusian President Drazdy was delivered to a rest home for pensioners and disabled people and to a children’s orphanage in Minsk.

Eco-friendly products – potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, marrows, melons and water melons were delivered by Alyaksandr Lukashenka‘s younger son Mikalai, state-owned news agency BelTA reports.

In December pupils of the secondary school in Astrashytsky Haradok which Mikalai Lukashenka attends took the rest home for pensioners under patronage.

The fact that Alyaksandr Lukashenka and his harvested potatoes and melons themselves has gained resonance among Belarusian Internet users.

In July, the Belarusian leader and his son mowed grass in the company of French actor Gerard Depardieu.

Showing off as a hard-working leader and caring father is definitely playing into the hands of Alyaksandr Lukashenka before the presidential election which is be held on October 11, 2015.
