Belarus, the EU and the United States are aimed at equal respectful dialogue. This was stated to journalists by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makei after him reporting to Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Uladzimir Makei praised the prospects for abolition of restrictive measures, that are still in place with regard to Belarus:
“I think the prospects are good. Most importantly, we were able to achieve not only the changes in the atmosphere, but also the actual content of our relations with the EU and the United States. All parties are working towards equal and respectful dialogue,” Foreign Minister said.
According to Makei, it was the prospects for the normalization of relations with the West, primarily the European Union and the United States, that Lukashenka paid most attention to during his today’s report.
The President gave specific instructions on the development of comprehensive cooperation with the EU, including in such sensitive areas as human rights and to work with the OSCE for the preparation of elections.
