Lukashenka criticized performance of Belarusian hockey players

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has strongly criticized the performance of Belarusian hockey players at the World Cup 2017 and promised to draw conclusions.

“Let’s see what happens next. If they draw conclusions, start playing — we will accept it. If not, it means that we will not put up with it, he said. – Why am I so overreacting? Not because I am an athlete and I have been doing sports all my life. But because sport is the greatest ideology. When the Russians defeated the Germans on the eve of May 9, this had some political tint. Russians got exited. And what presents are we getting? Millions of people were watching them, and they had that attitude.”

Belarus national team started the tournament with three defeats — by Finland, Czech Republic, and Canada.
