Let’s seek our fortune in other places - Lukashenka about trade issue with Russia

Belarusian producers should find new sales niches if they are facing problems with the delivery of food products to Russia, president Alyaksandr Lukashenka said on Friday.

“As for export, look for other markets. If Russia fails to understand us and does not want to understand, well, I will meet with the Russian president after the inauguration to discuss all the issues in detail. We need to clarify things. If they keep making us toe the line for no matter what, we will seek our fortune in some other places. Therefore, hunt for other markets. You should not focus on one market all the time,” he stressed.

According to the Belarusian leader, it is the corruprion issues that have hindered supplying Belarusian food to Russia.

“They have imported powdered milk from New Zealand. What have they brought, what do they offer to people? But it is their problem. They do not see it and do not want to see. There are shadow paybacks in everywhere , you know. And we must protect our that which do not contradict their interests. We do not sell bad products to them. Even auditors say that Belarusian products are good. Therefore, we will make decisions this year. We are really doing a goof job, but keep kneeling,he added.
