Leonid Kuchma to retire from Minsk talks


Leonid Kuchma has made the decision to resign as the representative of Ukraine in the contact group on the settlement of the conflict in Donbass. The decision is related to his age.

The ex-president of Ukraine has recently celebrated his 80th anniversary, RBC reports. In this regard, Leonid Kuchma decided to end the career of the special representative of Ukraine. During the meeting of the contact group on October 2 in Minsk, the politician expressed his gratitude to colleagues.

From the first days of the armed conflict in Donbass in 2014, Leonid Kuchma acted as a representative of the official Kyiv. During negotiations in the Belarusian capital, Kuchma signed the Minsk Agreements, which provided for a cease-fire in the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
