The Russian squadron passed through the English Channel in the direction of the Mediterranean Sea and Syria. Among the vessels was a heavy aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” (the former name – “Leonid Brezhnev”).
The video shows the ship’s power plant releasing black smoke into the sky. Online commentators wrote about environmental concerns and joked that the aircraft carrier was on fire.
In July, Russian state news agency TASS spread the information that the “Admiral Kuznetsov” carrier will be used during a military operation in Syria. Military ship has on board 15 Su-33 and MiG-29K aircraft, 10 Ka-52K, Ka-27 and Ka-31 military helicopters.
