In wake of Belsat TV report: Ukrainians urged to boycott Belarus companies trading with separatists

Ukrainians are urged not to buy the products of Belarusian companies trading with the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk republic.

Belsat TV has repeatedly reported the cases of Belarusian producers’ skirting the Ukrainian law and delivering supplies of dairy and meat products, alcohol, household chemicals and cosmetics to Donetsk and Luhansk.

After the reports, group of Ukrainian activists who are keeping at the checkpoint at the administrative border of Crimea to prevent smuggling have addresed the Ukrainian authorities. They want Kyiv to blacklist the Belarusian companies selling goods to Russia-controlled separatists.

In this case, the sanctions would affect a number of big Belarusian enterprises (Krynitsa, Kommunarka, Belita-Vitex and others). The Ukrainian side may also push for their withdrawal from European markets.
