Images of political prisoners close to Poland-Belarus border


Billboards depicting Belarusian political prisoners have been installed near all major vehicle border crossings in the territory of Poland, statkevich.org, the website of imprisoned politician Mikalai Statkevich, reports.

The billboards were mounted by the civil initiative “Freedom to Mikalai Statkevich and all political prisoners”.

Human rights centre Viasna (Spring) states that there are six political prisoners – people who are unlawfully deprived of liberty because of their political views – in Belarus, and demands the immediate release of ex-presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich, activists Yury RubtsouArtsyom PrakapenkaIhar AlinevichMikalai DzyadokYauhen Vaskovich.
