'Free Free Foundation' found 103K modern slaves in Belarus

The organization has published a fresh globas survey index of slavery.

In the rating Belarus ranks 20th out of 167 countries. Russia ranks 64th.

The organization estimates that around 40 million people in the world are in modern forms of slavery.

In addition to the classical forms of slavery (common in Africa and Asia), there are also modern ones. Modern slaves are forced to work non-stop until their death and take loans, as the money they earn in 1 month is enough to pay their expenses only for 1 month. Researchers also highlight sexual slavery (forced prostitution), forced marriages and trafficking in human beings (also forms of modern slavery), subbotniks, potato harvesting on the orders of the school principal, and free work in prisons.
