Four EU countries refuse to attend Moscow parade


The celebration of Victory Day in Moscow will not involve the representatives of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania.

The Polish Ministry of Defense said that all the celebrations associated with the Victory Day, will be held in the country, ‘Gazeta Polska Codziennie’ reports.

A spokesman for the Slovakian Ministry of Defense said that the Slovak delegation had not intended to go to Moscow on May 9, and all the celebrations on the occasion of the Victory Day would be held in the country.

According to the press-secretary of the Czech Ministry of Defence, the activities on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the end of World War II will be held on May 8 and 9 in Brno and Prague.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, in turn, said that the Lithuanian delegation also would not go to Moscow, “I do not think that now, when we witnessed the Russian aggression against Ukraine, it is necessary to take part in military parades. This is not a good way to pay tribute to the victims of World War II. ”
