Foreign diplomats wear embroidered shirts to show respect for Belarus

On June 25, the eve of Independence Day, Belarus Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei invited heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus to take part in the day of ‘Day of Belarusian embroidery shirt (vyshyvanka)”, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry reports. Diplomats came with families wearing embroidery shirts and t-shirts.

“In his speech, Uladzimir Makei stressed the importance of such activities aimed at the preservation and promotion of Belarusian self-identity,” mfa.gov.by wrote.
