Facebook against Russian propaganda

The world’s largest social network will begin to check the accuracy and consistency of information in photos and videos.

According to The Wall Street Journal, this measure is introduced to counter propaganda. Basically, it is aimed against the publication of “fake news”, which are distributed by “Russian propagandists.” Facebook will start to check facts, and it will be done both by algorithms and people.

“In order to fight misinformation, we have to be able to fact-check it across all of these different content types,” said product manager Tessa Lyons.

In addition, users of the social network will be able to report fake information seen in photos and videos.
