EU actively helps Belarus improve lives

As part of the campaign “Together We Improve Lives” the European Union helps make life better.

Annually throughout Belarus a number of joint programs are being implemented to create additional jobs and new opportunities for all Belarusians. Within the framework of cooperation, more than 300 campaigns has been supported and hundreds of jobs have been created.

Much attention is paid to energy efficiency. For example, with the help of the European Union, one of the schools in Dzyarzhynsk completely replaced the old windows, insulated the school building. On the roof they installed solar panels, thanks to which the school is provided with hot water all year round.

“Thanks to the implementation of the project, we have managed to save up to 4,000 BYN a month,” says Lyudmila Luksha, director of secondary school No. 4.

Very serious work is being done to lure tourists to our country. For the needs of the Nyasvizh castle the project bought an electric bus, bicycles, and soon a segway will be purchased. In Slauharod, a museum of beekeeping was established, and two agro-sports were opened.

“Tourism is the third major earner in the economy of the region. That is, tourists for us are everything,” said Svyatlana Yyazerskaya, deputy chair of the District Executive Committee.

Much is being done for students who, thanks to support, can participate in seminars, scientific programs and exchange programs.

In total, more than one hundred projects are being implemented. More information about them can be found here.
