[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYB17Mf3y1U&feature=youtu.be”][vc_column_text]The former head of the National Bank told “Belsat” about the positive and negative trends that were observed in 2016.

Stanislau Bahdankevich believes that last year the Belarusian authorities managed to ensure stability of the exchange rate and balance of fiscal policy. Unfortunately, the achievements of the government stopped there.

“There is a decline in gross production in Belarus, as well as rising inflation and prices, falling incomes, a decrease in exports and imports,” lists Bahdankevich.

There will be no drastic changes in 2017, said the economist.

“The economy is cyclical, and it will stabilize only in the second half of the year. We know that this is possible, if there are government reforms,” said the former head of the National Bank.

According to Stanislau Bahdankevich, in 2017 the government needs to to reduce taxes and create new jobs.
