Dyiana Selvanava
Dyiana Selvanava from Hrodna, Belarus, has been sentenced to two years with a year reprieve, she has to pay 690 rubles of fine, she will have her phone confiscated and will be bound by travel restrictions.
She was tried for posting pictures with elements of pornography in the social network “VKontakte”.
The sentenced woman is in shock, but she sees no sense appealing the verdict.
She had a case under Part 2 article 343 of the Criminal Code brought against her. Dyiana has a six year old son.
She has used the media to urge people to be more careful on the Internet.
Dyiana’s case received publicity not only in Belarus, but also in Russia. According to the girl, about thirty different media outlets were following her case.
On March 24 last year, at about 17:14, Dyiana was using her ‘Nokia’ to upload photo, which has partially visible male sexual organ to VK album.
She said, though, that she could not see photos in detail on the screen of her old phone: it seemed to her that it’s just a funny erotic picture.
