According to numerous media reports, this act had repercussions: cadet Mikita Hvozdzeu who published the photo was later expelled.

“As far as we know, no one was expelled, everyone attends classes,” a representative of Brest regional executive committee told European Radion for Belarus.

But Mikita has not appeared at the boarding school yet.

“He is absent today, he has fallen ill. He will come on Wednesday or Thursday. His parents pulled away his documents. The other boys who were featured o the photo attend classes ” a fellow cadet said.

The cadets will be deprived of leave pass for ‘violation of the dress code’.

According to Mikita’s classmates, the director of the boarding school took back his words about the expulsion of three boys whose photo became extremely popular among Belarusian patriots, independent newspaper Nasha Niva reports. Director Alyaksandr Kalko allegedly apologized to Hvozdzeu and his parents for a strong reaction and asked the boy to go back to school. But now Mikita seems to be weighing whether it will be rewarding to continue his studies at the Yastrambelsk boarding school.
