Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine deserve a chance to join the EU and NATO if they meet the criteria for these organizations, U.S. Senator John McCain said at an international conference on global security in Bratislava.
Political analyst Robin Shepherd asked McCain whether the politician felt regret that Russia’s western neighbours failed to get such chance 5-10 years ago, and whether it collapsed by the moment, Radio Free Europe/radio Liberty reports.
In response, McCain said that the prerequisite for membership in NATO is the democratization of a country.
