Pavel Prakapovich, an activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party, is serving a term in Minsk district remand prison.

In August, a Minsk court sentenced Prakapovich to a ten-day arrest for participating in a protest rally against holding the military exercize Zapad-2017 in Belarus, the human rights centre Viasna reports.

However, he was not sent to prison at that moment. It was not until November that a local police officer called him and offered to ‘pay the debt’ to the state.

A few days ago Pavel disappeared. His mother got in touch with human rights activists who later found the activist in prison.

Pavel Prakapovich will be released on on December, 25.
