Court arrests instigators of knife fight at Russian school for two months


Two teenagers who stabbed a teacher and pupils in Russia’s Perm have been arrested for two months.

The investigation officially charged them under Articles 30.3 and 105.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more persons, including minors, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement).

Two court hearings concerning investigators’ request took place at the city hospital where L.(16) and S.(15) are being treated.

According to investigators, on January 15, a tenth grader and his underage acquaintance came to school No. 127 in Perm. They entered a room where junior students were having a class and stabbed nine kids and their teacher. According to the Investigative Committee’s spokesperson, the second attacker is a former student of the same school. The attackers also wounded each other and were taken to hospital.

In Russia, the age of criminal responsibility concerning grievous crimes is 14 years. According to lawyers, the instigators of the knife fight may face up to ten years in prison.
