Christmas atmosphere at Valozhyn district farm

Belsat journalists witnessed a traditional Belarusian Christmas performance at a Valozhyn district farm.

This time, instead of adults, kids were the main actord. After a short rehearsal of traditional Christmas songs and rituals, the children’s group went into the house to congratulate their parents on Christmas and New Year using the Christmas star, “goat”, “bear”, “baba”, “soldier” and “mehanosha”.

Interestingly, the children coped with their role quite well: children first “scared” hosts that they would break in if they did not get a treat, there was singing outside, and the bear imitated a girl getting ready for the disco and the children go to school in the morning.
The owner of Skrypleu facility, Vasil Hryn arranged a sale of the Christmas “horse”, which proved to be very well-trained and showed some dancing and marching routines. There was also Christmas celebration and dancing, funny rhymes, and poetry reading by candlelight. The most important gift for children and adults was a genuine festive atmosphere that prevailed at the farm.
