Charnobylski Shlyakh organizers give up on rally due to high costs


The organizing committee of Charnobylski Shlyakh gave up on the April 26 rally ‘for high cost and lack of sense’.

On Tuesday, April 7, the headquarters of the Belarusian Popular Front Party hosted the first meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the Charnobylski Shlyakh on April 26. The organizers confirmed the approximate route of the rally. The participants will gather near the Kastrychnik cinema at 14.00-15.00, from there the people will march to the Charnobyl chapel in the Peoples’ Friendship park on 15.00-16.00, belprauda.org reports.

The organizers gave up on the meeting on Bangalore Square.

It has been decided that an application to the Minsk City Executive Committee will be signed by the representative of the solidarity movement Razam Illya Dabratvor, chairman of the BPF Party Yanukevich, co-chair of the organizing committee of the BCD Vital Rymasheuski, representative of the Belarusian Green Party Dzmitry Kuchuk.

Representatives of the For Freedom Yuras Hubarevich and Ekadom Tatstsiana Novikava has not yet decided.

Organizers will submit the application on April 10.
