‘Brothers in blood’. Belarus never lets Russia down - Lukashenka

Belarus has always been honest and open with Russia in matters of cooperation, president Aliaksandr Lukashenka said on Tueday during his meeting with Alexander Mikhailov, Governor of Russia’s Kursk region.

“We are brothers in blood. It is god’s will that we should be friends and build our integration relations this way,” state-owned news agency BelTA quotes Lukashenka. “We have never misled Russians. If we went for a union — a military political one or an economic one — we did it openly and honestly”.

As Belsat reported in early March, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that it was necessary to ‘step up cooperation in the framework of the Union State of Russia and Belarus’. He also conferred an Order of Alexander Nevsky upon Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
