Brest: Who started Second World War?

A poster featuring the joint parade of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army troops on September 22, 1939 has appeared at the entrance to the Brest Fortress. The photo is a shot from a news film.

In Soviet historiography, the fact of the parade, as well as the alliance of Hitler and Stalin, was always taboo. Nowadays the Belarusian authorities are also trying to sweep the truth under the carpet and replace it with the ideological myths of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45.

The poster was placed on the wall next to a graffiti by Lukashenka-run Belarusian Republican Youth Union, according to which the grave war began in 1941, not in 1939.
