The decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The Russian Government Award 2015 in the field of the media will be given to ten media outlets. They have been awarded since 2013. The prizes are awarded for significant creative and professional achievements of the Russian media and foreign media published in Russian.

This year, the Belarusian newspaper “Zarya” from Brest with the chief editor Alyaksandr Lahvinovich became the only foreign winner. In the document signed by Medvedev, our country is called “Belarussia”.

Last year the prize was awarded to “Bulgarian-Russian information pool” and the magazine “Murzilka”. Awarding ceremony will be held on January 12, 2016.

Chief editor of “Zarya” Alyaksandr Lahvinovich commented to Belsat on the award:

“I think we were given the award because our newspaper wrote a lot about Russia, we have a close relationship with this country. Together, we have implemented several joint projects. In particular, our journalists went to Moscow, Tver, Nizhny Novgorod, Kostroma, Ivanovo and wrote about how people live there.”

“I’m going to the presentation, but I do not know how to spend the prize money. I would like, of course, to spend it on the magazine,” said Lahvinovich.

This year, the newspaper “Zarya” is 75 years old.
