On May 3, Chairman of the BPF Party Alyaksei Yanukevich sent to the Prosecutor General a statement demanding to recognize the Russian biker club “Night Wolves” as extremist organization.
The basis for the statement, the press service of the party reports, became the recent statements of the leader of the Moscow based “Night Wolves” Alexander Zaldastanov made on April 30 in Belarus. He said that “Belarus is Russia”.
Yanukevich asked the Attorney General to act pursuant to the law “On Counteracting Extremism” and demand that the Supreme Court recognize the “Night Wolves” as extremist and ban their activities on the territory of Belarus.
“The insolent statement of Zaldostanov is clearly aimed at the non-recognition of the Republic of Belarus as an independent state and has the aim of undermining the territorial integrity of our country, said Yanukevich. – We want the prosecutor’s office to pay attention not only to the content of the application, but also the fact that it was made by the head of the organization, which actively and effectively supported separatism in Ukraine, and now set up several offices in Belarus (there are both registered organizations, and unregistered branches)”.
Yanukevich also stressed that the statements of Zaldostanov “may be evidence of the creation of the ideological foundation for the preparation of a hybrid war against Belarus.”
Motorcycle club “Night Wolves” is holding a motocross “Roads of Victory – Berlin”. Last weekend, a few of them were not able to cross the Belarusian-Polish border. According to the Press Secretary of the border guard department in Terespol (Poland) Dariusz Sienicki, entry was denied to seven motorcyclist. “The reason for it was a threat to public order and security of the state,” said the spokesman. However, some of the participants of the motocross came to Europe, despite the prohibition of Poland. This was announced by the head of the motocross Andrei Bobrovskiy on May 2.
