Belsat journalist on trial for unpublished story

Freedom Day still has effect on “Belsat” journalists. Journalists Paval Mazheyka and Syarhei Rusetski have been fined again for their cooperation with our TV channel.

The trials were held both in Hrodna and Vitsebsk.

“This reaction is the result of the coverage of the most acute events. It’s a fine for “Belsat”, but not for me,” said Pavel Mazheyka.

“The absurdity of the situation is that my story was never aired, as the events in Minsk were overshaowed by the Vitsebsk events, but we did spend an hour in court,” said Mr. Rusetski.

Vitsebsk court decided to fine the journalist who collaborated with “Belsat” 460 rubles. The case was heard by judge Alesya Zharykava. Syarhei Rusetski was accused of working for a foreign media outlet without accreditation and illegally collecting and distributing media products during the celebration of the Freedom Day in Vitsebsk on 25 March.
