Belarusian trucks with contraband apples stuck at Russian border

On May 25, three Belarusian trucks drivers got in hot water near Bryansk region in Russia. According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, their trucks were carrying 58 tonnes of Polish apples. Import of this product is banned in Russia.

To avoid carrying the prohibited goods through the Krasny Kamen checkpoint, the drivers decided to pass through the forest. They got detained by sandy soil. The trucks simply got stuck in the sand. To help them get out, Russian border guards sent for timber trucks.

Belarusians said that the Polish apples were being transported to Kazakhstan. This was noted even written in the re-export certificates. However, the drivers said the final destination of the trucks was Chelyabinsk.

Now the trucks are at the checkpoint Krasny Kamen and will stay there until the Russians check re-export certificates confiscated from the drivers.
