Belarusian retiree attacks Lenin’s tomb in Moscow, lands in mental hospital

An elderly man was taken to a mental hospital after assaulting Lenin’s mausoleum.

The incident occurred on Sunday at about 14:00. A man who was walking along Moscow’s Red Square threw a bottle of paint at the mausoleum.

Despite his age, the elderly man hit his target: the green paint covered the left side of the entrance to the building.

The police detained the attacker, who turned out to be a 78-year-old citizen of Belarus. He refused to explain the motives of his deed, demanding a meeting with journalists and representatives of Putin’s presidential administration.

Instead, he was placed in one of Moscow psychiatric hospitals.
