Belarusian NPP to be guarded by 'nuclear police'

Belarusian NPP near Astravets will be guarded by a separate independent military unit. A big opening of a military camp for “nuclear policemen” took place on Thursday.

The military unit 7473 is part of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Military town was opened by the Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich and commander of internal troops Yury Karayeu.

State Agency “Belta” reports that the soldiers would be living in the rooms that are “not exactly barracks”.

Meanwhile, officers and warrant officers are provided with rental housing.
