Belarusian musicians to record songs based on poems by Stalinism victims

The songs will be performed by Lavon Volski, Zmitser Vaitsyushkevich, Sveta Ben, Katsyaryna Vadanosava, the Dzieciuki band, Vuraj, Re1ikt, Akute and other well-known Belarusian musicians. The fund-raising campaign for the project “(Non) executed poetry” was launched by the TuzinFm portal on the talaka.by platform.

Project participants will record songs based on the works of the poets who were shot on October 29, 1937 among 130 other representatives of the Belarusian intelligentsia. There will be recorded a total of 12 songs by 12 artists.

Each of the participating musicians has chosen a poet and the poem to base their song on.

While the project participants will be recording their videos for the project, there are planned to be held 12 public lectures with experts on life and work of specific poets.

The live presentation of the project will take place on October 20th, 2017 — exactly 80 years after the terrible execution.
