Belarusian graffiti artist arrested in Azerbaijan


The Baku police detained Syarhei Illeuski, a native of Belarus, when he was sawing grills of the metro ventilation system, news agency Interfax reports with reference to referring to the joint statement by the press service of the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan.

When arrested, Mr Illeuski was carrying door keys used in the subway, a flashlight, gloves, two ropes, cameras, 10 bottles of dye and 12 sprayers.

The man also had schemes of Tbilisi and Yerevan metro, his camera contained images taken in their depots and stations.

According to Illeuski, he tried to get into the ventilation system of the Baku mentro to graffiti the walls of the stations.

He set off for Caucasus on March, 18.
