Belarusian authorities advise against selling maps with ‘Russian’ Crimea


Belarusian officials recommend shop managers to avoid selling maps and globes on which Crimea is shown as a part of Russia.

In late April Ihar Barysau, a deputy head of the Belarusian Social and Democratic Party, filed complaints to the department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the Mahiliou city executive committee and the department of trade. The activist asked to withdraw the globes representing state boundaries in the way not recognized by Belarus from the the Central department store in Mahiliou.
