Belarusian agricultural producers to compete with world giant on foreign markets - official

The Belarusian agricultural sector is facing new challenges, Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy says.

According to him, Belarusian agricultural producers will be rival the world’s giants on foreign markets.

“In Belarus, there is no battle for the harvest, we will be competing for the foreign market with the global giants (Australia, USA and others). We should not and we will not stop the modernization of our processing industry even for a minute, because the competition is very tough. At the present moment, reducing costs of production and processing is very impotant,” Mr Rusy said.

The Belarusian agro-industrial complex has been set a task to provide $7.5 bn production turnout, with 10% cost-effectiveness, the deputy prime minister told TV station STV.
