Belarusian Paralympian wins gold setting new world record

Ihar Bokiy covered the distance of 100 meters butterfly with a record time.

It took him 53.85 seconds. Thus Ihar Bokiy updated his world record (54.44 sec.). Belarusian swimmer competed in the ‘S13’ category.

For the Belarusian athlete it is the sixth gold medal of the Paralympics. In 2012 in London he won five gold medals.

Ihar Bokiy, who is now 20 years old, was born in Babruisk. He competes among Paralympic swimmers with visual impairment. In 2013 he became an honorary citizen of Babruisk.
