Belarus PM says 500 USD salary still in the air

In the 9 months the Belarusian economy has fulfilled the annual GDP forecast, but wage growth is behind schedule, Prime Minister Andrey Kabyakou said at a government meeting.

“Based on the pace of GDP growth, we have reached the level of 101.7% of the same period last year. This corresponds to the annual forecast. The general situation in the economy is stable, almost all of the key performance indicators of the Government and the National Bank have been reached,” said PM Kabyakou.

Since the beginning of the year, the export of goods and services has amounted to $ 23 billion. That is 19.2% higher than the same period last year. The balance of goods and services is positive an equals $ 478 million, or 1.4% of GDP.

Meanwhile, PM Kabyakou acknowledged that the level of nominal wage is lower than the planned schedule of 1,000 BYN. In August, the average wage amounted to 845 BYN (the plan was 896 BYN). The Vitsebsk oblast is lagging behind by 115 BYN.
