Belarus and Russia working on uniform visa

Its introduction was discussed at the meeting of the High Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers.

Following the meeting, State Secretary of the Union State Ryhor Rapota said that “nobody is against, but there is a question, when to do it and under what conditions”.

“All this should now be solved,” BelTA quotes Rapota.

According to the official, there has been ‘a lot’ of talk on creating common migration and visa space.

“There is still a lot of work to do, there is a number of unresolved issues, but we agreed on how we will work,” Rapota said.

The secretary promised that the consultations will be attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the Ministries of the Interior and the border guards of the two countries.

Despite there being a “union” of Belarus and Russia, currently foreigners cannot enter Belarus on Russian visa, and vice versa.
