Belarus gold and money reserves up 25%


In June 2017, the country’s gold and money reserves rose by a quarter and now total $ 6.5 billion in the equivalent.

At the same time, the current growth in May was only 2.5%. In the first half of 2017, the reserves increased by 1.6 billion US dollars.

National Bank explains the rapid growth of the last month by the sale of Eurobonds in the amount of approximately $ 1.5 billion and the receipt of the fourth tranche of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development for the sum of $ 300 million.

Also in June, Belarus was able to pay off foreign and domestic debts in the amount of about $ 350 million.
