Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine recite Karatkevich’s poem in support of Belsat TV (video)

“Long live Belarus! Long live Belsat!” Belarusian volunteers fighting for Ukraine in Donbas have recited ‘I Was. I Am. I Will Be’, a poem by iconic Belarusian writer and poet Uladzimir Karatkevich.

The tactical group ‘Belarus’ joins together Belarusian volunteers who have been contributing to Ukraine’s countering Russia’s military aggression since 2014.

Film director Anton Tsyalezhnikau made three documentaries about Belarusian fighters for Belsat TV: ‘Volunteers’, ‘Belarusian’ and ‘Ales Charkashyn. Don’t Give Up!’

The Polish authorities might be planning to cut Belsat TV budget for 2017 by two thirds, the country’s media reported on December, 15. Taking such a step would mean the end of the independent channel, its director Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy believes.
