Russia demanding amnesty for 'Berkut' fighters

While in Minsk, Russian representatives demanded amnesty for former MIA special forces “Berkut” and other detainees who have no relation to the conflict in Donbas.

The news came from the member of the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral contact group on the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass region, First Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko.

“The hostages. A month ago already, Ukraine announced its willingness to transfer the 302 offender to release 81 Ukrainians, confirmed by ORDLO in the occupied territories. All in all, the SBU list now has 152 hostages in ORDLO and the number is growing, as civil with pro-Ukrainian views are also being detained.

The stumbling block here is the demand for amnesty of ‘Berkut’ staff and other people that have no relation to the Donbas activities,” said Gerashchenko.

“We work for the good news for the families of our hostages, it is not easy, but it is moving. We have faith na d hope that the other side will keep their word,” the deputy added.
