Andrei Sannikau presents book in Warsaw


Ex-candidate said how hard it was for him to write a book about “elections under dictatorship”.

“Belarusian prison or Elections under Dictatorship” is the name of the book of the 2010 presidential candidate Andrei Sannikau which was presented on February 19 in Warsaw. The foreword to the politician’s book was written by the Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich. The author admitted that the book took a lotof effort to finish, but the politician was satisfied with the result.

“It is a significant event, because it’s still a lot of work, a lot of memories came up when I was working on the book. It was quite difficult, but now I’m happy, because the book came oout in three languages,” said Andrei Sannikau.

The presentation was attended by persons who also went through the internal prison of the KGB – the Belarusian “Amerikanka” – wife of the politician, journalist Iryna Khalip, editor of the website Charter-97 Natallia Radzina, campaign manager of Sannikau Ulad Kobets, a trustee of the 2010 presidential candidate Zmitser Bandarenka, anarchist Ihar Alinevich.
