Almost 200 Chechens protested at Polish border

Russian citizens staged a rally at the Belarusian-Polish border on Monday protesting against the fact that the Polish border guards would not let them into the European Union. All of them had unsuccessfully tried to cross the border at the crossing point by bus and Brest – Terespol train.

“This way refugees from Chechnya tried to draw attention to their problem. According to some, they had been living in Brest several months and every day made an effort to go to Poland to get refugee status there. Chechens say they left home, as it is impossible to live there,” said human rights activist.

No one was detained.
