Accidentally scrapped S200 rocket explodes in Russia

At the site of the explosion in Chita, Russian military found the warhead of the anti-aircraft missile system and its fragments, agency “Chita.ru” reports.

“During the inspection of the explosion site, the military personnel found fragments of S-200 “Angara” anti-aircraft missile system”. Nearby was another part of a similar anti-aircraft missile system, which did not pose the risk of explosion, as it was in the “sleep mode”,” the Rosgvardiya press-service reports.

Currently, the military are working at the scene, searching for other explosive devices.

The explosion occurred on the scrap base on the morning of August 10. The Healthcare Ministry reported about two dead and one injured person, who in a very grave condition was taken to the regional clinic.

Witnesses have published photos from the scene of the explosion, showing shattered windows and a collapsed fence, and one of the locals filmed the explosion mushroom.
