Aliaksandr Lukashenka admits teddy bear stunt

The Belarusian leader has made a promise to punish all persons guilty of the incident involving a Swedish aircraft flying over Belarus at the government session held on July 26, 2012.
“How can one explain the provocation involving a single-engine aircraft that not only crossed the Belarusian border but intruded the territory of Belarus? Safety of our citizens is of paramount priority,” state-owned news agency BelTA quotes Lukashenka as saying.
“Moreover, the aircraft was timely detected. Why didn’t commanders stop it? Who were pitied? Was it particular executives’ fault or errors in the very air border defense system? I would like to hear answers to these questions,” the president said.
“I would like to honestly and sincerely tell those, who are very interested in the matter, and those, who are present here: the perpetrators must be made responsible,” Lukashenka stated. “As you can see I didn’t rush to make decisions. You wanted to investigate the matter thoroughly. As far as I can see now, it has been investigated and the guilty ones should bear responsibility. Not later than Monday I will adopt decisions, including personnel ones”.
