Pavel Seviarynets «mends his way»

On April 19, 2012 the political prisoner might have been released on parole. But the release was denied to him, though according to the staff of special detention facility №7 in the village of Kuplin «he does his best to mend his way».

«I have served half of my sentence. But it is the orders that run my situation, not laws. If there is no order [from Lukashenka – Belsat] nothing will change,» Seviarynets said.

He may be freed any day, the politician noted. «If they [detention facility officials – Belsat] are ordered the administration commission will hold a meeting, and I might be thrown out of the detention facility at any time,» Seviarynets explained.

«As a rule the commimission on parole sits in the end of the month and subjects several such cases. My case may be considered or it may not ,» Seviarynets said.

During the 2010 presidential election campaign the opposition activist was an agent of ex-presidential candidate Vital Rymasheuski. Pavel Seviarynets was arrested after the peaceful demonstration on the day of the presidential elections, December 19, 2010. Seviarynets was arrested on December 20, 2010 and later sentenced to 3 years of restriction of liberty for «organization and participation in actions that seriously disrupt civil order ». At the moment the political prisoner is in the village of Kuplin (Brest region) where he does labouring jobs.
