Yuras Hubarevich becomes 'For Freedom' movement Chairman


Yuras Hubarevich, who used to be deputy of Alyaksandr Milinkevich, has been chosen the new Chairman of the movement “For Freedom”. Chairman was chosen out of three candidates at the election conference.

In addition to the two Vice-Chairmen of the movement “For Freedom” — Yuras Hubarevich and Ales Lahviniec — there was another candidate, entrepreneur Alyaksandr Taustyka.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”378358″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Out of 115 votes, 59 were cast for Yuras Hubarevich, 51 for Ales Lahviniec and 2 for Ales Taustyka.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”378326″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]A few days before the conference, Mr Lahvinets made a proposal to introduce the co-chairmanship in the organization in order to exclude the possibility of the movement split. However, Mr Hubarevich said that it is a “weak proposal” which would not benefit the organization.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”378322″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]In accordance with the movement’s charter, its goals are to promote the construction of civil society and the rule of law, uphold the principles of freedom, democracy and human rights; promote independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus, raise its international prestige; facilitate the creation of conditions for Belarus to have universal, free and equal elections of the president, deputies in accordance with international standards.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”378346″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
