Luhansk: Pro-Russian militants abduct Ukraine’s Hromadske TV journalists

On June, 30 Hromadske TV journalist Nastya Stanko and a cameraman were taken captive by representatives of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic.

The separatists have not made any official statements on the subject yet. According to hromadske.tv, their crew was taken to Luhansk and is being kept in a basement of some building in downtown Luhansk.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Tuesday government forces would renew offensive operations against rebels and “free our lands”, hours after a ceasefire to allow for peace talks with the pro-Russian separatists had expired. As 27 Ukrainian soldiers were killed within 10 days, the Ukrainian leader took a decision to drop the peace plan.
