Price for solidarity: KGB out for BATE-Barysau football fans


The police and the Committee for State Security started collecting data on a group of football fans after after a photo of them standing with the national white-red-white flag and a slogan supporting Ukrainian pro-EU protesters appeared on the Internet, barysau.by reports.



One of the fans is reported to have been sentenced to five days of arrest: he was allegedly recognised in the photo, though all faces were intentionally brushed out. Having gone to a police station on January, 29 the man didn’t return home. There was no public access to the proceedings next day: the fan was found guilty of violating the rules of holding meetings, rallies, processions, demonstrations and pickets.

KGB officers and policemen keep phoning relatives and friends of the fans. At that, no one has been summonsed yet.
